ActSeed Background

ActSeed is a business-focused online service that allows members to create unique personal profiles, connect with other members, search and view the profiles of other members, and communicate with other members. ActSeed members can change their profile information at any time and control how other members and ActSeed communicates with them.

ActSeed is an on-line community and set of web-based applications that enable information sharing and interaction among members. ActSeed is designed to put members in control of the information they provide and in their communication with other members.

You should review all of the profile and communication defaults and options provided by ActSeed, and select those options that are compatible with your objectives for disclosure and privacy.

ActSeed is supported primarily by “ActSeed Sponsors” and by members who join premium groups that require payment. ActSeed will not sell or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information to third parties. As a member, you may choose to disclose information to an “ActSeed Sponsor” or another member, however this is entirely at your discretion and the choice to do so is entirely your responsibility.

ActSeed cares deeply about online privacy. If you have any questions concerning this privacy policy, please email us at privacy@ActSeed.com.

Information Collection and Use by ActSeed

ActSeed collects user-submitted information to communicate with members and send notifications relating to the ActSeed service.

ActSeed also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes. If a member accesses ActSeed by mobile device, information about this device may also be logged.

User Profile information, including any member’s pictures and screen name, are displayed to other members who have authorization to search and view your profile. Email addresses are used for the purposes of your choosing to invite others to join ActSeed. With the exception of inviting others to join, your email address is not shared or displayed to people by ActSeed. However, in your communication with other members you may choose to disclose your email address, other contact information, or other business or personal information. To do so is entirely at your discretion, and you are solely and entirely responsible for sharing any information that is not otherwise made available by ActSeed.

ActSeed may use a member’s email address to send updates, newsletters or other news regarding the service. Members may choose not to receive emails of this type by changing their notification settings in the member’s personal "Account Settings".

From time to time, ActSeed or an “ActSeed Sponsor” may offer a promotion, sweepstakes, or contest on ActSeed. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. If this is the case, you may transfer personal information to an “ActSeed Sponsor” where this request is stated. Any request for information by an “ActSeed Sponsor” will include a clear disclosure at the point of collection regarding the party collecting the information and the relevant privacy policy for this information.

Invitations and Other Communications to Non-members

ActSeed members may invite others to join the service by sending invitation emails via ActSeed’s automated invitation system. ActSeed stores the email addresses that members provide so that the respondents may be added to the invitation list of the member sending the invitations, and also to send reminders of the invitations. ActSeed does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication other than invitations and reminders. Recipients of invitations may contact ActSeed to request the removal of their information from the database.

Use of Cookies

ActSeed uses cookies to store member preferences and to record session information. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to manage your cookie preferences. However, you must enable cookies from ActSeed to use most functions on the site.

Links

ActSeed contains links to other sites, including the site(s) of an “ActSeed Sponsor” and sources of information. ActSeed is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on any other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy for that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected and managed by ActSeed.

Communication in ActSeed Forums

ActSeed provides forums where members can voluntarily post public information and responses to topics and posts provided by other Members. You are entirely responsible for any content that can be viewed or otherwise accessed by other members and the public, and any personally identifying information you provide could be used by others to send you unsolicited communications.

ActSeed monitors all ActSeed forums, and has the right to edit or delete any content that ActSeed determines to be inappropriate for any reason. ActSeed also retains the right to block content from any member or cancel any member’s account and block future service. You are solely responsible for the content that you post in ActSeed forums or any other area in ActSeed. You agree to indemnify and hold ActSeed harmless for any actions, legal or otherwise, that arises from any of the content that you post.

Providing Information and Content to ActSeed

ActSeed members may provide information, documents, or articles to ActSeed, either through forums or directly. ActSeed will review and determine, at its sole discretion, if information, documents, or articles will be provided or make accessible to ActSeed members. Members who provide information, documents, or articles to ActSeed represent that they have rights to this content, or that the member’s submission of this content does not conflict with the rights of another party.

Correcting/Updating or Removing Information

ActSeed users may modify or remove any of their information at any time by logging into their account and accessing features such as “Edit Profile” and “Account Settings”. If a member chooses to cancel membership in a group or membership to ActSeed, the member’s profile and any other information relating to this cancellation will no longer be searchable or viewable by other members.

“Public” vs. “Private” Profile Information

ActSeed provide opportunities for members to join groups, create public profiles, and search other member’s profiles as defined within ActSeed’s Terms of Use. A member may provide as much information in profiles as the member wishes to disclose and have searchable and viewable by other members. The profile information searchable and viewable by all other members is termed “Public” information.

Members of some ActSeed groups also have the option to create an additional, more detailed profile, termed a “Private Profile” that will be accessible only to other ActSeed members who the member has granted status as a “Professional Contact”. It is the responsibility of each ActSeed member to manage their own “Professional Contact” list and status. A member may choose to grant “Professional Contact” status to another member and later cancel “Professional Contact” status to that member entirely at their own discretion, as described within ActSeed’s Terms of Use. Granting or accepting “Professional Contact” status will enable viewing of any “Private Profile” of the other member, including access to any uploaded documents contained in the profile. Canceling “Professional Contact” status by either party will discontinue the access to any “Private Profile” information between these two parties, but will continue to enable “Public Profile” access and communication between these two parties.

Blocking of One Member by Another

An ActSeed member may choose to block profile access and communication from any other member, entirely at their own discretion, by enacting the “Block” function provided by ActSeed. ActSeed also supports a “Report Abuse” function so that any member can notify ActSeed if another member's actions are believed to be abusive.

Email Choice/Opt-out

Members who no longer wish to receive specific types of updates or notifications from ActSeed may choose to change the settings in their account’s "Account Settings". Members who do not wish to receive search notifications may access their “Saved Search” functions to change frequency or cancel notifications.

Third Party Communication

ActSeed enables communication and discussion of offers between members, but limits offers by third parties to groups identified and disclosed as an “ActSeed Sponsor”. If you are connected or otherwise access an “ActSeed Sponsor” site, that site may set cookies. If this is the case, these cookies may allow the ad server to recognize your computer. This privacy statement addresses the use of cookies by ActSeed and does not address the use of cookies by an “ActSeed Sponsor”, and any such third party is entirely responsible for their own privacy management and disclosure. Similarly, ActSeed has no responsibility for the content or privacy of any third party web sites or sources of information that may be disclosed and shared between members.

ActSeed is not responsible for any third party communication or privacy issues that may result from one member using or sharing personal contact information shared by another member.

Security

ActSeed member accounts are secured by member-created passwords. ActSeed takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time. For any additional information about the security measures we use at ActSeed, please contact us a privacy@ActSeed.com.
